Jessica Bjore
Jessica, a guest instructor, started dancing at the age of 3 and began competing at the age of 6. She trained at The Dance Shoppe as well as Summit School of Dance, both located in Minnesota, where she competed in solos, duets, small groups and more.  After completing her bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota she went on to become a Vikings cheerleader.
Jessica is trained in jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, ballroom, and lyrical.  She has choreographed award winning routines while she was a competition dance instructor and won national recognition as Choreographer of the Year in 2017 for a national dance competition.  She has had the opportunity to work with famed choreographers Mandy Moore (“So You Think You Can Dance?”) and Gregg Russell (“Live to Dance”).
DanceWorks is fortunate to have Jessica as part of our team. Her teaching style is “fast paced and disciplined”.  We are looking forward to having our dancers grow artistically and technically with her expertise.

Vanessa Boreland
Vanessa graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a BS in mass media and a minor in dance. While there, she was awarded the Freshman Talent Grant from the Theatre and Dance Department.  Vanessa started her dance training at the age of 4 at DanceWorks and continued her ballet training at Ballet Royal.  While at Apple Valley HS she performed in their “Danceworks” productions, Broadway 7000 and was a member of the AVaires Dance Team.

Leanne Campbell-Noonan
Leanne Campbell-Noonan has been a dance educator for over twenty years. She has taught and choreographed for students of all ages in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and the Twin Cities. Leanne is a graduate of the Teacher Training Program at Canada’s National Ballet School, where she also earned her Associate Teaching Diploma-Cecchetti Method. She currently teaches at St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists where she continues to be inspired by fellow dance educators. It is a privilege to have her on the DanceWorks staff.

Terry Field
Terry graduated with a BFA in dance from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.  Terry performed professionally in Arizona and Washington, D.C. and was an adjunct faculty member at Northern Virginia Community College.  While residing in Virginia, Terry developed a successful Child Development Creative Arts program.  She brings her experience, professionalism and love of dance to DanceWorks working with our Ballet, KinderMoves, Contemporary and our newest Ballroom classes.

Katy Henry
Katy's love for dance started at Pat Peare School of Dance when she was 3 years old.  She grew up in competitive dance and had wonderful opportunities to perform at Disney's Magic Kingdom and Disney's Epcot Center.  Katy has trained in multiple different styles of dance.  She holds over 15 years of experience as a dance instructor.   Her competitive classes have achieved multiple platinum awards and choreography recognition.  Katy's proudest accomplishment is being able to see her students take pride in their achievements as they grow as individuals and enjoy her classes.  Katy is the director of the competition tap groups here at DanceWorks.

Annie Hofstad
Annie teaches all levels of tap, jazz and ballet classes.  We were very happy that she joined the DanceWorks team after a very long career with Monique’s School of Dance.

Michelle Ludwig
Michelle graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas with B.A’s in K-12 education and Spanish, as well as a dance minor from Macalester College. She began her training under the direction of Juli Mickelson and the Dance Endeavors team, studying a variety of styles including jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and classical ballet.   Most recently Michelle has danced in Denver with Colorado Ballet’s Studio Company.  Michelle has taught a variety of styles of dance to all ages during this time and looks forward to bringing her experience and love of dance to Dance Works.

Jennifer Mack
Jennifer is excited to be teaching at Danceworks for her 2nd year. Currently she is a member of Christopher Watson Dance Company and continues working as a freelance/independent dancer.  Her past professional performing credits include: 6 seasons with Continental Ballet, 4 with St. Paul City/St. Paul Ballet and a founding member of Alternative Motion Project in several notable Principal and Soloist roles.   Jennifer graduated (Magma Cum Laude) with a B.A. in Dance Performance and a B.S. in Arts Management & International Business from UW-Stevens Point.  She prides herself on bringing out the best dancer and artist in each individual student while also making them a well rounded, grounded person in whatever they choose to chase and succeed at for a dream.

Lisa Orth
Lisa was trained at St. Cloud School of Dance for fifteen years. Her skills were instrumental in landing her a position on the St. Thomas dance team for four years, two of which she was captain. During that time the team won two national collegiate championships. She graduated from St. Thomas with a B.A. in applied arts education and social work.  Lisa is the current head coach for the fall Eastview Lightning Dance Team.  She has been teaching jazz, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, precision kick, lyrical and ballet for the last seven years and continues to choreograph national routines for several division one dance teams.  She continues to perform with Crash Dance Productions based out of Minneapolis. Lisa facilitates several competition groups here at DanceWorks.

Gwen Oukrop
Gwen has been dancing since 1989 and loves working with children and adults to instill a love for dance.  She connects with her students by having fun and, at the same time, teaching fundamental skills.  Gwen teaches Beginning Ballet/Tap, AB’3′s and Adult Intermediate Tap.  Come and join the fun!

Melanie Wagner
Melanie is a 2017 graduate from the University of WI, Madison with a BS degree in Human Development, Family Studies and Social Welfare.  While at Madison she was a team coach and dancer with the Elite Dance Team.  During high school at Eastview she performed with the Lightning Dance Team and was part of the Kick Choreography Team. Melanie’s dance teams won a variety of High Kick championships and were the 2013 All Tournament Team for High Kick.  We are sure that Melanie will bring her enthusiasm for dance and kick to our recreation and competition classes.

Susan Malecha
Susan has been with DanceWorks since 1985.  Throughout the years she has been a Tap, Jazz and Ballet instructor for all ages.  Susan performed with Char Weiss and the Super Taps Troup, and has studied tap with many notable instructors.  She is currently a substitute instructor, the Administrator for DanceWorks and she teaches fitness classes for HealthWorks.

Tim Olson
Tim Olson, guest instructor, dance career began here at the age of 3. He studied various styles of dance including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary and Hip Hop at Northland School of Dance and throughout the country at various renowned studios including Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. Additionally, Tim has traveled the country taking from some of the industry’s top instructors.im’s performance achievements include 2004 national teen title at West Coast Dance Explosion, 2005 Tanzsommer Dance Festival in Austria, and top 3 senior male at NYCDA.
Tim’s teaching career began at 15 as an assistance teacher for Northland. Now he is teaching master classes, assisting for New York City Dance Alliance and choreographs for various projects.
Recently, Tim danced with Odyssey Dance Theater in Salt Lake City, Utah. Performed productions “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “Giselle”, and “Romeo and Juliet”. Last spring Tim toured Europe. Tim is excited for his next project – touring with Rasta Thomas’ “Bad Boys of Dance”.

Ann Proudfoot
Ann Proudfoot, Owner and Director of DanceWorks Performing Arts Center, received her B.S. degree in Dance and Physical Education from the University of Utah.  Ann was the Dance Director at Arlington High School, Arlington Hts., IL and later transferred to Larson Jr. High School in Elgin, IL where she introduced a dance program which subsequently became part of the school’s physical education curriculum.  After moving to Chicago, she created her own community dance program, but a job transfer for her husband brought her to Minnesota.  She established her own dance school and, during the past 30 years, has seen her program flourish.  Throughout this time, DanceWorks has been the recipient of many awards and much recognition.  DanceWorks is currently housed in a 14,000 state-of-the-art facility which also houses a women’s exclusive fitness center, HealthWorks.
